We are grateful to you, our tennis supporters, who help make youth tennis possible!
Dick Bottinelli was an integral supporter of the growth of junior tennis in Grand Junction way back in the early 1960’s. Having Dick Bottinelli recognized as an essential contributor to junior tennis was the motivation that inspired me to create the Mesa County Tennis program back in the early 1980’s. Dick’s support of our junior program with tennis balls, racquets, and tennis trophies was essential in our early success. Dick passed away on October 19, 2022. Dick Bottinelli was an ambassador and icon to our tennis community. The Foundation was created to ensure that families unable to afford tennis registration fees, tennis racquets, and appropriate tennis attire could participate in this Life-Long Sport of tennis. Over 300 families have benefited from the generous support of our kind donors.
About Mesa County Tennis
We are a non-profit organization offering tennis for all ages and levels of play. Our experienced and enthusiastic staff help children grow as players and, more importantly, as healthy individuals. Our staff prides itself on teaching and mentoring children on the importance of Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a Positive Attitude, and Respect. All of our programs instill this Mesa County Tennis philosophy. We are also proud Colorado Youth Tennis Association (CYTA) and Net Generation members.
Our Scholarship Program
Out of the 300 students participating in our lessons and clinics, 100 were supported by scholarships. Of the 174 league players, 50 junior players received scholarship support. The total scholarship support for the 2023 summer sessions was $6,300. Whether large or small, every bit counts - so please consider supporting student-athletes in promoting tennis - the game for a lifetime!
